“The 5 P’s” to scaling your business:
Problem solve! If you find that you keep running into the same problems over and over again, yet are expecting to grow, then just note that those problems will catch up with you. Many businesses look like they’re doing well because they are producing the outcome that they are promising to deliver, but if the input or operating systems are suffering, it will eventually come to the surface. These issues will cost you time and money, amongst others. As you build, take the time to fix issues that you come across whether big or small. Create systems and repeatable processes that will help you and your employees avoid the mistakes once solving them!
Prioritize. Decide what the main things will be that your business will focus on. Think about the impact that you want to have and what you want your business to be known for. When people think about (fill in the blank product or service) do they think about your business? Prioritize the main things until you become an expert or industry leader in that thing before you think about adding on something new.
Prune! Eliminate anything that is not necessary and distracting you from the main priorities. Unecessary meetings? Products? Services? Projects? Content? Eliminate them, re-prioritize, and see an increase in your productivity and results!
Pick wisely. Decide what you will add along the way wisely. This can be services, products, content, projects, roles and responsibilities, outreach, events, etc. Once you become good at the main priorities, and created systems in order to make producing those a repeatable fool-proof process, pick what you will add to your business WISELY. Say “no” more often than you say “yes.” If it will be a distraction from the main thing, consider not doing it. If it will enhance the main thing and move you closer to your business impact and goals that you are aiming for, then take a closer look!
Pull up! Equip people learning from you within your business by giving them insight into your company, and ensure that they know the company’s goals and main objectives. Allow them to follow you along your day and ask you questions. This will allow them to work more productively and aim for the same goals in the work that they are doing! This will also allow for eventual delegation of tasks, which will ultimately allow you to scale.
Follow these “5 P’s,” and let’s GROW together!
